You have the basics correct.

The audio I/O is RCA, there is NO MIDI support, there is NO editing of 
effects.

This was a pet project of Alesis' CEO... A more "full featured" box (MIDI 
I/O,. editing, 1/4" audio I/O) *MIGHT* show up in the FAR future.
