RE: distortion/OD pedals

I researched distortion pedals for a while, mostly looking for anything 
that
would work for bass, and the Big Muff was the only thing I found that
worked.  It works very well.  A few guitar player friends also use them 
with
good results.

Looking for recommendations for a overdrive/
distortion pedal that i could use for both
bass and guitar.  The less expensive the better,
of course.  And i don't mind quirky.
