yes, the same preamp that mr. gilmour uses/used. i started looking for a no frills, tube pre as soon as i decided to go with a rack system. the alembic was the natural choice since it is designed to mimic the front end of the fender showman, an amp i love and used to own. beautiful clean sound... -jim
