Sennheiser HD600's are good "mastering reference"
headphones.
I've seen them used by one or two mastering
engineers for particular applications.
Also a good idea to reference other music you're
aiming to be in the ballpark with, as you mix and master. helps reel you
in if you start going too far down some path...

type of sony headphone is great for doing mixes becuase of its "true" or flat
sound. i forget which it was and it was a while ago .does
anyone have an idea of what headphone is best for mixing a project down
