RE: A poll--shoes off?
I have seen performers bring oriental rugs into venues to avoid the kinds
of
unpleasantness Travis refers to--
Using the same shoes is good advice--the guy I learned bass pedals from
made
a point of always using leather soled shoes, and they have consistent
response.
I have tried shoes off in the home and they do help you find things
easier--at one point on Thursday (my fill-in at the Radisson playing to
drunken tourists) I missed the loop pedal, as it is dark under the piano
and
I just couldn't see--but I was relaxed and didn't let it interrupt. Shoes
off would have helped--and it was clean and carpeted.
