Be aware that I am a musician, and I build my loopers myself in Max/MSP 
and the only issue is latency (which any RTOS has as well).
But my material is delayed anyway, latency is no issue for me, could be 
50ms and I'd still be fine. And if you don't use Midi for triggering, 
but audio instead, it will easily be sample accurate.
The Mac OS X is certainly RTOS enough for me. Its for musicians 
obviously...
