Re: Best Cheap Guitar Synth

I spent some time with my Line6 filter pro's Synth
patches, and while I didn't have anything to compare
it to, I thought, for the price, they were excellent.
I don't know how their x911 emulation holds up to the
original, but I sure was able to get some interesting
noises from it. Glitchy for sure, but I hear the
original was too.

Perhaps I should borrow a friend's Filter Factory and
do a side by side test. Funny, I got rid of my
Electrix stuff (except the Repeater) because I was
paying out a lot and I needed rack space. Now that
I'm happily holed up in my studio those reasons are
gone. But then again, I could just sink deeper and
deeper into software as seems to be the fashion.

Has anyone fooled with software filters/effects for a
guitar synth like sound?

Also, I called up a few patches in the good old VH-1
for "synth" sounds. Not sure if they're what you're
looking for but some very interesting cool sounds for
sure. Man I love that little red box.
