New to this and need set up help

Ok, hey guys. Brand new to the site and getting a new loop machine. I don't need much. I am just curious what I would need to be able to create live vocal loops and also be able to record them in real time. I am a singer and beat boxer. Right now I am looking at the boss RC-50 (is there a loop machine more appropriate for non instrumental loopers?) and a microphone. 

I was curious what i would need to be able to plug this into my 13.3" MacBook notebook and record my sessions, and if there is some way to utilize the speakers i have instead (computer speakers) of buying an amp (I'm to poor right now).

Also i was curious if there where any mic recommendations for a mic that will pick up minimal background because i plan to loop live, but if the mic is picking up other loops as i make new ones, i wont be able to fully ever drop a loop. Maybe some mics are highly directional? that would be best, because it would be cool to be able to record the audience and such too if i where to point the mic their way. maybe thats to much to ask.

I love the idea of this mailing list and this site. I cant wait to get involved in the conversations.
