the above book I have
I think Cott has 2 mentions of the Springer,
but essentially it is a dictation machine.
Has a drum with a number of heads on it which can revolve as the tape passes by.
So it granulises the sound in typical harmoniser fashion.

It's a very good book imho.

the below book is a different one,
it may exist somewhere

if it doesn't exist then the photoelectric loop
player is possibly an invention of mine :-)
