I don't know if someone may be interested but I have solved the problem.
The regular intervals indicate some kind of system background activity that disturbs the FW bus. I have disable the wireless LAN and the crackle is disappeared

i have a similar problem with my RME FW800,the sound
degrades really bad when i have more than one audio
program open like soundforge,sonar or winamp.
