Ditto on the Greg Bear: But get "Songs of Earth and Power"
first. Any musician would tend to love it I suspect.
I think Bear also did one of the books in a post-mortem
"Foundation" trilogy, those were a good read also. I went back also to
read "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" last year, right before the 'last'
director's cut of "Blade Runner" came out... nice contrast, both great
works. Vangelis, btw, has been allowed to release all the music he did for
the film, in a 3-CD set. Sigh, I love incidental music!
