hi-

i like sad music, a lot. a few favorites:

- 'hope was' by soulwhirlingsomewhere (he can be a little too much for  
some people, but if you like red house painters...)

- 'estrella' by lycia (a tad goth, but quite excellent)

- 'an accidental memory in case of death' by eluvium (some excellent  
solo piano stuff)

- '( )' by sigur ros (one of my favorite records ever made)

- 'toward the within' by dead can dance (one of the best live  
recordings i've ever heard)

- 'alina' by arvo part (glad to see other people recommending some  
stuff)

- 'e luxo so' by labradford (all their stuff is amazing, but this one  
is pretty melancholy)

anyway, just thought i'd throw those out there...

...saw some interesting recommendations, i'll have to follow up on  
some of those.
