Re: Netiquette OT
Loopers Delight has a couple of "rules" that some of us kind of stick to,
...er...mostly.
1) Any posts not to do with looping have "OT" in the title, so that those
who want to can use an automatic filter
on them. What is "allowable" as an OT (off-topic) post is discretionary,
for such topics as
"books I read recently" and any political rants please consider joining
http://groups.google.co.uk/group/loopers-delight-off-topic?lnk=srg&hl=en
which is the Loopers-Delight Off Topic list.
2) Don't post in HTML, as some people use a digest version of this list,
and the HTML content can sometimes make
the digest unreadable. (sometimes your email software will send HTML by
default, but usually it will send
plain text if you don't use any kind of formatting like fancy background
colors or italics)
3) When replying to a post, edit out anything irrelevant to your reply.
and suggestions,
1) Recently some email software puts your own address into the <reply to>
field by default,
this means that any replies to your post will automatically go straight
to you rather
than too the list...which may not be what you want.
2) If you prefer a Forum to a Mailing List then no need to tell us about
it, you're not
the first :-)
there's a forum at
http://loopingmusic.proboards99.com/index.cgi
3) For technical questions about looping, keep in mind that the more info
you can provide the easier it is to answer the question.
This list is un-moderated.
"Go moderate yourselves."
