In defendence of those red plastic switches I must say they come from
a high quality Japanese manufacturer. They are fast, lightweight,
compact, unexpensive and make practically no switching noise. I tried
hard but coundn't find an alternative as far as analog switching
goes. They do look like they are originally intended for hand
operation and not for foot pedals though. I bought a lot of them to
be able to change regulary. Then again: my only serious EDP breakdown
on open stage was caused by one of these switches that broke in mid-
performance sending a snowstorm of
