OT Distortion looping rig - and Devi Ever Eye of God

"The wonderful people at Analogue Haven, rushed me out a
Devi Ever Eye of God (which has a photo sensor that allows you to control a
feedback loop for simple but wonderful psychedelic wash effects
and it arrived on the day of the gig, but It had stereo ins and out
and I couldn't get it to work in mono"

At the risk of sounding overtly arrogant-fatherly: I just took a look
at the product site of devi ever, and here is what it says:
">>> JACKS
- main INPUT - bottom right
- main OUTPUT - bottom left
- loop SEND - top right
- loop RETURN - top left"

Which means, this is (as you also state), this is basically some
dynamic feedback loop controller. So your cabling goes some like this:

Signal source (input signal or signal from another effect, say
Amplitron) -> Eye of God main INPUT
stompbox which goes into feedback loop input (say, Boss OD20) <- Eye
of God loop SEND
stompbox which goes into feedback loop output -> Eye of God loop RETURN
Next step in your signal chain (next stompbox or guitar amp, say FT-2)
<- Eye of God main OUTPUT

Why wouldn't that work?
