Re: OT That 'sizzle sound' of Mp3s



I'm just amazed that people accept the MP3 sound quality at all. Yeah, it's convenient to have a bunch of music in a small format. But, I find that when listened to on my automobile stereo, or just via headphones as normal, the sound lacks a certain something. I much prefer listening to a CD even with its limitations. When I crank the volume when  a CD is playing I can hear subleties - when I crank an MP3, all's I hear is the same limited audio quality but louder.
 
That's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

I wouldn't have guessed the results, but I'm also not surprised by them.  It makes sense that sound preferences are learned and not inherent.
