OT High tech removing of clicks, crackles and pops

I'm having an interesting phenomenon when recording vocals on my laptop 
where sometime my track has a quick click/crackle/pop.  It looks like the 
wave forms become deranged alittle for a few milliseconds.

Any thoughts on:
A. Origins?
B. Ways to eliminate from good tracks with cool tools? (so far standard 
"noise removal tools" have not worked-perhaps becasue the noise seems 
almost 
to ride on the wave form perhaps?)
