That is exactly how the LP1 does it as well.  Your loop start point is 
when 
you press the record button.  When you end the loop the loop is round up 
to 
the nearest multiple of the bar length.  The LP1 then makes adjustments as 
necessary to keep the MIDI clock and the loop in sync.
