Indeed there are - unable to strectch to a looperlative or echoplex,
mine is the core of my looping setup. See

The supplied switches are useless. In the past, I used a Behringer
AB200 (great, cheap, if a little flimsy) but to get the most from the
unit, you need a programmable midi pedal.

I fear not and believe me, I've looked. The problem is
programmability - to access the features I want, standard midi pedal
patch assignment won't deliver - you have to alter both bank and
patch to meet the jammans internal patch spec. I use the FCB1010 and
aside from being the size of Wales, it does everything you could
possibly want and the free editor software makes life so easy. The
Gordius range looks superb, but are out of my price range and
possibly even over-featured for controlling a jamman.
I've never understood why suppliers can't see a market for a small
(say 2*3 switch) pedal that can be programmed for basic CC and patch
change with none of the fancy features.
> c) Memory Expansion chips: Anyone located the chips at a good price
To get the most from it, you need the full expansion. After about 6
years of use, I discovered (RTFM!) the jamman can produced multiple
synced loops, which the FCB can switch in/out and even control via
the expression pedals. To achieve each extra layer, you need double
the memory needs of the first loop.
However, the jamman is still a tad complex for live work, unless you
enjoy tap dancing. I'm currently saving my pennies for this beast

Which looks like it will suit all my looping needs without use of
midi. It's also in stereo, which I miss on the jamman.

the jamman.
