Re: y2k9 - the hardware vs software battle
I meant to add as well the fest and our other shows circled around it
were my first experiences with Mobius live beyond using it a few times
on my webcast and the recent VSV. It was quite successful. I used it
costantly on the Noisefest and Loopfest sets. For the LA show on
Sunday I used it subtly as I did more realtime playing.
I should also mention and I credit Rainer for this. I couldn't afford
a pedal system to work with my laptop and Mobiuse at this time.
Rainer did some research for me and came with with an excellent $60
solution for me - the Frag Pedal from gamingmouse.coim. The pedal
has. 4 programable foot buttons that you assign to keys on the
keyboard. I had the 4 pedal buttons mapped within Mobius as follows,
R to record, G for global reset, V to reverse and N for next track.
It was minimal but worked really well for my purposes this trip. As I
grow with the app I will eventually get something more robust.
