RE: OT: zen for beginners



I know you've gotten a lot of replies but as a Soto Zen practicioner I recommend Shunryu Suzuki ( NOT D.T.!) 'Zen Mind, Beginners Mind' --I imagine this has been translated.
Also, see if you can find Red Pine's translation of 'The Heart Sutra' --Both books are wonderful, easy to read, and ultimately DEEP on further readings and deeper understanding of Zen. My own first book on Zen was Alan Watts 'The Way of Zen' which is also a great beginners source.

guys! may you point me to some good starter Zen book for a young person, an intelligent teenager near 18? easy to understand and adapted to the actual days? maybe some tich naht hanh? i have some watts, suzuki, but i'm not sure about them.. it's for a present. thanks.
