VST's on mac

There was a recent thread on a software that could run VST's on Mac...
I have lost the thread, software's name and the advice someone gave...
that software wasnt easiest to install/get working?
my little brother is struggling with it.
He's running Ableton Live 7 on snow leopard Mac.

Any pointers where I could find the thread...??
