Re: random and control (was: Sco live reverse looping)

watching this made me think:

it seems that live looping can help in both directions:

* to those who have full control over their instrument it can bring some chaos they can react to and thus make their music grow. for this we need functions with a rather unpredictable result.

* to those who play less well, some precise repetition can bring the desired order to give the music consistence to bear all the unpredicted playing happening :-)

I just found this nice example of John Scofield utilizing looping of single phrases into a great funk solo:

He seems to repeat a single phrase, then reverse it (just once), then he seems to be able to retrigger and finally the phases he records immediately come back in reverse. Wonder if he does it with the Boomerang or with the Boss Looper.

Has anyone got a clue how this can be done on an EDP?

Thanks, Andreas
