the past few times i've seen them live, the silverman has been using a 
roland v-synth...making extensive use of the d-beam and touchpad. there's 
also a laptop onstage, which i think is running ableton live (i think)...

given how long they've been around, they probably have quite a few older 
synths at their disposal, though it's really hard to discern any 
recognizable sounds on their albums...
