Re: Why NOT Looping has been good for me.
This is exactly why I mention the sus functions on the EDP. For me they're
truly a totally relaxed way of looping with others.
If you find the tempo drifting, either re-trigger the loop manually,
adjust its length (sus unrounded multiply) or simply do a sus record and
create a completely fresh loop right on the fly so you keep the music
flowing.
You've preserved the tempo and haven't missed a beat. :)
There are a lot of options without needing to sit and think about it while
the moment passes. ;) -Know what I mean?…
Not trying to harp on the EDP but just noting that there are many ways to
do the live looping thing with other people. ;)

Cara :)

In some cirumstances, it can be a relief to have a common beat going by
itself, indeed.
Then again, when playing with several people, I do enjoy the "organic"
flow of the tempo without a fixed beat. We usually seem to be able to
respond to each other in a more spontaneous way.
Perhaps, I should look at the idea of "looping together" with a more
open-minded approach (just thinking of i.e. collective multi-tap
clusters... could be interesting! )
