I do have a HOWTO for sending midi to a plugin on an Ableton track,
(compiled with Per's help). If anyone needs that just ask.The Ableton looper doesn't let you set the tempo by tapping in the loop.
Also, why would one have to mime the first loop? Not doubting you, just not sure what you mean!
Workaround is to pre-record a first layer that works as a click track.
Consequently, miming the first loop is not unheard of.probably
