Gibson Guitar Teams With Microsoft, Intel, Hewlett Packard, And Cakewalk In Launch Of Gibson Digital Guitar
|
January 5, 2006 - Musical instrument giant Gibson Guitar has teamed with global leaders in Digital Audio technologies in the launch of the first Ethernet-based Digital Guitar. Microsoft, Intel, HP, and Cakewalk continue to invest heavily in addressing the needs of professional and amateur music producers. These companies are eager to introduce the benefits of the Les Paul HD6X-Pro to the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) environment. Gibson's Les Paul HD6X-Pro utilizes a new technology called Media-accelerated Global Information Carrier, or MaGIC. This technology, developed by Gibson Labs, enables devices to carry multiple channels of high-fidelity audio over a standard Ethernet network connection. By leveraging widely accepted technology such as Ethernet, Gibson Guitar is assured continued advancements in bandwidth and reductions in cost - all over the same ubiquitous cable and connector. "Gibson recognized the capabilities and benefits the pervasive Ethernet networking environment can bring to the musical instrument market" said Henry Juszkiewicz, Chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar. "Gibson will continue to invest in MaGIC technology as the basis for high-quality, secure, and open transportation of digital media for consumer electronics and professional audio markets as well." By working with industry leaders such as Microsoft, Intel, HP, and Cakewalk, musicians will experience the next generation of home and studio-based music creation:
* Cakewalk's SONAR 5 enables individual effects per string, surround mixing, and more within a powerful recording environment
* HP workstations combine Windows XP X64 and dual-core Intel processing to realize professional quality music creation
The technologies you need to power your studio are already together:
* The high-performance 64-bit HP xw4300 workstation
* Dual core Intel Pentium D processors supporting 64-bit computing Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
* Cakewalk's SONAR 5, the first native 64-bit digital audio workstation
Experience the power of Digital Music Creation live at the Gibson tent or at the Intel Studio@Home booth at CES. There will be daily performances by Gibson's own Bart Walsh at each location.
