8:30 . TRANSMORPHOUS SOUND ENSEMBLE . Formed in February
2009 by Chris Meloche and Richard Moule as a forum for sonic
creation in which the two participants create an atmosphere in
which sounds can organically grow and morph into ever-changing
soundscapes. To achieve this goal, the duo utilize traditional
musical instruments in a non-traditional manner.

Meloche plays a table-top guitar which is processed through several
digital processing devices while Moule uses as similar approach on
the violin. Both performers also make use of prepared recordings
(environmental, media etc...) which are also manipulated beyond
recognition. It is this gradual and deliberate melding of
complimentary and contrasting elements which succeeds in
the creation of an organic, immersive soundscape environment.

The works created by the Transmorphous SE are completely
spontaneous and "in the moment" but with a definite feeling that
the sounds have been arranged in a very deliberate manner. The
duo communicate within the confines of a sonic palette which
slowly and progressively twists and turns in a pattern which
resembles a living organism. The listener is enveloped by the
sound and drawn into an alien soundscape which is somehow
rooted in a cloak of familiarity. Sounds slowly appear and
disappear while the passage of time suddenly becomes
an irrelevant concept.

9:30 . GEEK WEEKEND . The geeks return for another summer
sizzler. Robert Hoare (Berlin) and Steven Sauvé (Hamilton) look
forward to bringing you all manner of sultry sounds, drenched in
absurdity, and dripping with irony. No computers have been
harmed in the making of this music. ADVISORY: Random
processes are used throughout the performance.

10:30 . quasiMODAL . a floating electro-acoustic improv trio/quartet
with punch and a sense of humour, melting together cheryl o
on cello and effects, Steven Sauvé on keys and synths,
Eric St.Laurent on guitar, and Robert Hoare on saxes, clarinet,
lap steele and laptop. Mixing all genres from classical to jazz with
general silliness, quasiMODAL fuses electronic and looping
technologies as well as 'unusual' noise makers, creating textures,
rhythms and soundscapes layered with cello. August 16th's PiNG
Anniversary will feature Andrew Aldridge stepping in for Eric on
guitar - Andrew is welcomed as a long-time veteran of the PiNG,
as well as a founder of the Planet of the Loops and cheryl o's
earliest conspirator.

. GENERAL CHAOS VISUALS . It wouldn't be an anniversary
without the unique evolving lights of General Chaos Visuals
providing us with mesmerizing eye candy of painted lights
projected onto a canvas of performers.
