Someone wrote a real-time effects processor for guitar for the beos.  the
code is available.

called pedalboard.   in case you feel like coding your own solution.   you
can find it on their site somewhere.

i used to think about doing something like this.  Then I remembered
computers are a frustrating part of every other aspect of my life - why
bring them into this one?
