Jazz gauges and wound Gs are a must. I've been using 14s for high E for years, too! BE CAREFUL: some necks cannot withstand the extra tension requirements. Check first, unless you want to snap you favorite guitar's neck. (Use heavy cheapo guitars! THE BEST) FYI -for anyone familiar with Sonic Youth, they ALWAYS use heavy gauge strings.
