    I've noticed that there are a number of English patrons (and ex-pats) 
on
this list, and I wonder if any of them can shed some light on what the
potential for gigs and general living expenses are like in London and the
surrounding environs.  Is there work? What kind of work (studio, live, 
etc)?
How easy is it to meet musicians?  Can one afford the living expenses?  How
easy is it for a foreign national to get a day job?
