best units, in my opinion:

echoplex digital pro (under a grand)
eventide orville (big bucks)
electrix repeater (also under a grand)

more affordable alternatives:

akai headrush (cheap and limited)
boomerang (not as cheap and not as limited)
boss looper (in between, cost-wise)
