EDP vs. Repeater

Fellow Loopers,

I know this option has been discussed a lot in the past, so let me 
formulate
this as a question for a hint for available documents:

Is there an available comparison of EDP vs. Repeater with regards to >>does
a Repeater owner also need an Echoplex other than for reasons of "one can
never have enough loopers"<< ?
