i thought of this, too.
i haven't tried it, though. i think you might get artifacts.
also, the repeater sometimes freaks out when it recieves commands too 
quickly
(especially involving record)
it is a shame that you can't switch tracks on the repeater while recording,
another big flaw, imo...
