ah. thanks for reminding me. i forgot that Earthbound was after Islands. 
btw, "Peoria" on that album was recorded about 4 miles from my house here 
in 
Peoria IL. :)

as far as ITCOTKC goes, i doubt it. there aren't any VCS3isms on that 
album. 
it's most likely distortion. i wish Mixmag.com had _every_ Mix article, or 
i'd 
have a link to point you to.
