No, I have not even heard of the Roland V-bass, but it sounds interesting. Here's my deal though, when I play I like to have one good instrument at my disposal and now have to think about changing around too much. Having a bass on a Grace stand works pretty well, but it's a little awkward sometimes. I must admit I'm having better luck with bass and midi since I abandoned the GR-30 and replaced it with a Yamaha G50. It seems faster in the conversion dept and seems better at dynamics too, which is a big part of it for me. I have been thinking about picking up a used VG-8 or VG-88, but I've been a bit broke lately.
