richard once i began my reply i came to that realization as well. live is a different thing to different folks. i remember vividly seeing mike matthews show the prototype of the 612 to some friends of mine at manny's in nyc, and it was a mind-blower for the price. the closest thing to my concept of "live" sampling is the grm tools plugin called "freeze" - this gives you a window with a streaming waveform display (of whatever is being fed through the plug) and the ability to grab a chunk of sound and then work it in a manner very similar to the akai's, with the added ability to have multiple versions of the loop with offsetting. very cool. bruce > I think you and I have different conceptions of "live"!
