I never had problem with MIDI sync on an EDP, on three different machines, connected to a variety of drum machines and groove boxes. When your start point appears to move, does it moved to a random new point, or is it the same "wrong" point each time? One thing I ran into with Brothersync was the mistake of not waiting for a start point to be defined by the other box when I was trying to start a new loop--you have to wait until the loop start point comes around again, otherwise the second box doesn't know that there's something to sync to.
