I haven't listened to "I Advanced Masked" in a great while. Seems they made a lot of different noises with those early synths. Basically the WP-20G only does a few sounds and only a couple of them are "synthy" sounding 'cause it's not really a synth device but a hexaphonic processor. Think of it more as an extremely simplified (and limited) VG8 type device and you are closer to reality. It's meager collection of patches are: Saw Lead Square Ring Mod Slow Gear Sitar Acoustic The first 2 sounds on its dial are distortion(ish) and kind of synthetic sounding saw-tooth and square wave sounds. The unit has chorus and delay too and if you ad a dab of those it begins to sound a bit like some of my least favorite GR-1 patches. It has a fair "ring modulator" patch up next on the rotary dial -- a little tough to dial just the right in though. Like I said, I use it mostly for the "Slow Gear" soft attack sound. The "Sitar" is absolutely, ridiculously useless. What were they thinking? The acoustic is little better. It sounds like the trebliest bridge piezo pickup in the world. It's of some slight use if yo mix it with the guitar's magnetic pickup signal though.
