BOSS RC20XL - 11 problem

whilst I am delighted that the Phrase Select dial goes all the way to 
eleven, in true Spinal Tap style...

does anyone know why it doesn't - as with one to ten - actually SAVE a 
phrase I record at that location

faulty box, or faulty brain, any ideas?
