One of my bands does put down an area rug. For one thing, it's nice to run all your cables and put a rug over it because it hides the cable mess. The only visible cables are the ones going to our instruments. Plus when you supply the floor, you always know what you're walking on. =) Mike --- Gary Lehmann <hqr@cox.net> wrote: > I have seen performers bring oriental rugs into > venues to avoid the kinds of > unpleasantness Travis refers to-- > Using the same shoes is good advice--the guy I > learned bass pedals from made > a point of always using leather soled shoes, and > they have consistent > response. > I have tried shoes off in the home and they do help > you find things > easier--at one point on Thursday (my fill-in at the > Radisson playing to > drunken tourists) I missed the loop pedal, as it is > dark under the piano and > I just couldn't see--but I was relaxed and didn't > let it interrupt.
