Behringer FCB1010 MIDI footcontroller setup for the electrix repeater.

maybe I'm reading the manual wrong , but I can not seem to grasp the 
genral 
idea behind programing the FCB1010 to operate the repeater. Can someone 
please , in great detail , go over how you enter and setup the 
footcontroller.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
