Hey,

For pseudo random fun-ness I like FMusic  which is a Fractal/Cellular MIDI 
generator.  Run the output to your VST host and plug in a cool VSTi and 
you 
are set.  You can guide it by setting how the random events trigger MIDI 
events.  It gets pretty weird sometimes, but once in a while really really 
interesting things happen.
