I think its every day since about 15 Years at least for the software I 
use. All of the developers of Max/MSP post to their lists, I doubt 
you'll find one day where there is no personal response of at least one 
of the developers to one of the questions.
The max list is as active as Loopers-Delight, as actually most lists 
which deal with creative software solutions: Pd, CSound, Supercollider 
come to mind. But these tools don't give you a looper out of the box, 
you would have to (and want to) do it yourself, which is the most 
exciting thing in the world. No begging for features, you miss it?, you 
just implement it...
Its definitely worth to get into one of these tools...
