I'm looking forward to reading your reports when you're up-n-running on that beast. Great that you could through in the money for the full 2 MB RAM right away. I had to go with 1 GB and an empty slot for future RAM expansion. I too picked a 7200 RPM hard drive, but I'm not so sure that was the right thing. Because of this fast drive the lappy gets rather hot and it is more fan noisy than my Powerbook that has a "slow" 5400 RPM drive. Normally sales people recommend faster drives, and especially for music, but if you do not intend to use it for multi track hard drive recording it may make more sense to go for a 5400 RPM drive and lots of RAM? I don't think my drive is very active when I do heavy live looping in Mobius. Please not that this is just some loose speculation on my side ;-) But I hate that whining sound, so I still do most work on the Powerbook - except for playing Mobius.
