In a current project I'm working on, that's exactly what I'm doing: I'm
working with a tuba player, whose mic'd tuba feeds into my effects
chain of lots of pedals and 3-5 looper pedals. I'm live looping,
effecting, passing the loop to another of the loopers, layering, and
playing his variably-processed loops back at him, while he's welcome to
play more live over my looping back at him. I'm not using at present, any
sound-making devices myself, I'm playing with his sounds as they sound
like something I can work with. It's fun.

best,
