I saw a trumpet player using four different mics on stage. Each mic going into a different fx line-up. So instead of stomping a pedal to catch a loop he simply directed his horn into the mic that fed a delay unit and vice versa. > I love how radical pitch shifting can greatly extend the timbral > range and power of simple found objects) Another cool aspect with pitch shifting is how monitor leakage sometimes can morph into beautiful background layers. As much as I can, with respect for neighbors, I like to rehearse and record live looping with monitor speakers instead of headphones.
