It really depends on whether you want to start with pre-recorded loops, in which case it's fine, or you want to start with a live loop, in which case it is not. Since I don't pre-record material, I'm out of luck. Generally, it's hard to understand people who don't find this an issue. The first thing I do with a loop pedal is simply play into it and grab a loop.
