For me, it's the pickup that counts in an acoustic instrument!  I use the K&K Trinity Plus (3 way) and it sounds incredible through my very very old Panaramic (Magnatone) tube amp.  Mike Gillies, engineer for Metallica, when he heard our guitars with K&Ks said, "You don't need mic's" (for recording).  This was so disappointing because I'd just bought $9K worth of mics for just that!  I heard Kelly Joe Phelps using a Sunrise that sounded good through the PA.  I know that last I saw Leo Kottke was using a Fender Deluxe Reverb.  I really respect his talent and ears.

Haven't heard the Ultrasounds... but I've heard good things about them.  If they're made by the guys who used to own Ultrasound PA company (Bay Area) they MUST be very good.
