Well, it's easy to test. Just run a stereo processor into the LXP1, which has some stereo imaging, and listen if the imaging is preserved. It is NOT preserved with the LXP5, unfortunately. The LXP5 also has stereo inputs, L and R, which doesn't necessarily mean true stereo separation of the input. A damn shame. Thought when I used my LXP1, I ran it through the AUX of my mixer board....mono Aux send of the mixer into one of the LXP1 mono inputs, and LXP1 stereo out into a stereo channel of my Mackie....worked like a charm. I suppose you could do the same with the LXP5.
